Schedule a time to assess weight, body measurements, body-fat percentage, muscle strength & flexibility. We will also orient you to our weight and cardio rooms, and give you some general tips to get started in an exercise routine.

(One time run-through)

Program designed for you—ideal for people familiar with exercise and machines. Not recommended for beginners.

personal training

Whether you are an experienced weight lifter or just beginning a strength-training program, a certified personal trainer can help you establish an exercise program at an appropriate level of intensity. We will help you set up a time convenient for you and the personal trainer.

*Fees are for services of personal trainer only. Daily admission fee or a pass to the Recreation Center is required for use of the exercise room facilities.

 

 

cardio & strength-training rooms

(High school & Adults)

In addition to the strength-training room, we offer a cardio-workout room, providing equipment which includes treadmills and ellipticals. The Center has something for everyone. There is selectorized Cybex strength equipment for those interested in free weights.

 

MEMBER ORIENTATION

 

Let us instruct you how to use the cardio and weight equipment.

First Tuesday of every month, 10:00-10:30 AM

First Thursday of every month, 6:00-6:30 PM

Registration appreciated, not required.

 

GOLF LESSONS (17 & UP/ADULTS)

   

Tune up your summer game. Participants supply their own clubs. Golf balls are provided. Dates:     June 4 - 13, 2008

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (6 sessions)

Time:      6:00-7:00 PM

Location:   Held at old VA Golf Course

Age:      8-16

Instructor:   Kyle Kincaid

Fee:     $21.50

Minimum: 8/Maximum: 15

 

KARATE (YOUTH & ADULTS)

 

Learn karate skills while gaining self-discipline, flexibility, posture improvement, self-confidence, and coordination.

Dates: (March/April/May) & (June/July/August) - 12-week sessions

Time:   Wednesdays/ 6:00-7:00 PM thru May

             6:30-7:30 PM June - August

Age:    6 & up

Location: Held at West Elementary through   May,

                   at Recreation Center summers

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

 

(Included with Membership to the Recreation Center.)

Fitness classes—minimum 12; maximum 50.  Cycling classes have a maximum of 10. 
Registrations for these classes will be accepted at the Recreation Center one week prior to the start of the class. Please register on a monthly basis for your classes.  Fitness classes are included in membership to the facility.  Schedules for fitness classes are subject to change depending on popularity.

ABC Yoga - NEW! The practice of yoga is a total body experience focusing on mind, body, and spirit. In this class you will learn basic breathing and postures of yoga.

 

Aquablast This class will combine cardiovascular fitness with exercises targeting strength endurance. Maximum: 24 participants

 

Aquasize/Aqualite Water provides resistance to enhance muscle strength and endurance to tone and firm your muscles.

 

ESP Noodle - (Shallow and Deep offered) Endurance – Strength – Power! Utilizing water noodles to provide resistance and flotation. Maximum: 24 participants

 

Balls & Bands - A fun and safe workout to tone your muscles while improving balance and posture. 

Boot Camp A mix of aerobic, strength, and callisthenic exercises.

CardioKick Kickboxing can be the ultimate cardio workout! Let Sergeant Brandy help you punch and kick your way to a better you!

CardioSplash - Easy-to-follow moves while also showing lots of intensity variations; you can swim your way slim!  Plyometric and power moves alternate with strengthening and aerobic conditioning. 

Core Sculpting Improve stability and balance while your work your core muscles (abs, back, upper legs) with the use of the exercise ball. This class will surprise you with a total body workout.

Maximum 24 participants

 

Dance It Off! NEW! No need for rhythm – your instructor will break down exercise steps to a high energy cardio routine. Before you know it, you're dancing!

 

Deep Water Aquasize This class is a combination of aerobic and toning workout. Working in 10 feet of water eliminates the support offered by the floor of the pool, making every effort count! Flotation devices will be provided.  

Extreme Circuit - Utilizing one of the best ways to improve endurance and strength.  Circuit through two-minute stations to optimize strength and cardio fitness. 

Power Cycling - Indoor cycling with the addition of upper body challenge work. 

Power Noodle - You'll learn how to use the noodle for added buoyancy and resistance that permits powerful aerobic and toning movements for the body.  No swimming skills required. 

Power Pump Shape and define your body! Targeting endurance training, this class will utilize low weights at high repetitions to condition and tone your body. It is a low to non-impact form of exercise that can be modified for all fitness levels.

 

Step ‘N Pump Step up to this class that will circuit between a cardio and leg workout utilizing fitness steps, and free weights to sculpt your entire body.

 

Studio Cycling Similar to outdoor biking, this class will get your heart rate up and take you for a spin simulating hills and flat road all on a stationary bike! Maximum: 10 participants  

 

Yoga Experience the challenge of Yoga! In this class you will improve yoga postures, and review basic breathing techniques. Yoga is one of the most recommended exercises from physicians world wide due to the extreme health benefits! Give it a try.

Power Yoga - Ultimate conditioning workout including yoga poses, weights, and flexibility challange!
